Naren Shaam
CEO & Founder, Omio
Born in Bangalore, India, Shaam earned an MBA from Harvard University before working in the auto and financial industries.
After his studies and whilst backpacking around Europe in 2010, Shaam became aware of the need to improve the transport booking system across the continent. While the trip was an enriching experience, Naren was spending more time buying tickets and planning trips than actually enjoying them.
There was no centralized platform to compare and book train, bus, and flight options. Inspired by this, Shaam moved from New York to Berlin in 2012, launching the Omio journey.
Since then, Omio, originally GoEuro, has expanded across Europe, becoming a leading travel search platform and offering global trip planning through its acquisition of Rome2Rio from Australia.
Omio is a multimodal travel platform that lets users book trains, buses, flights, ferries, car rentals, and car sharing in one place. The company partners with 1,000+ transport operators across Europe. Headquartered in Berlin, Omio has 400+ employees from 45 countries and is a brand of GoEuro Corp.
